Jeff Dickinson, Architect, LEED Accredited Professional, Sustainable Materials and Energy
Consultant. Principal of Energy & Sustainable Design, Inc and
President of Biospaces, Incorporated.
Jeff is a licensed Architect and has been a practitioner of
Sustainable Architectural Design Alternatives for the past 30 years. He
has designed and built passive solar, super-insulated homes and schools
including Straw-Bale and Earthship homes. Jeff designed the pioneering
Waldorf School on the Roaring Fork Eco-Campus and the Environmental
Education Building for the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies and
Aspen Elementary School. He is currently working with Solar
Energy International, in Paonia and Carbondale, Colorado to develop
their Eco-Campus and with several Waldorf Schools throughout the
country on master planning their campuses.
Jeff has had his projects featured nationally in books, magazines
and television. He is also an energy consultant as well as co-author
and consultant for green materials and energy building codes in
Colorado, as well as being a lecturer on Passive Solar Design,
Straw-Bale and Green Building Materials. He is a Certified Energy
Design Professional and has been a Certified Energy Rater for Energy
Rated Homes of Colorado.
Jeff is a Founding Member of the Carbondale Environmental Board and
the Progressive Building Partnership. He is also the cofounder of
Biospaces, Incorporated, a manufacturer of Solar Heated Geodesic Dome
Greenhouses, called Biodomes, which he helped develop at the Windstar
Foundation.
Formal Education includes a Master of Environmental Planning with
Solar Energy Specialization from Arizona State University and a
Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Kent State University. Jeff
serves on numerous community boards and is active in working toward
Environmental and Energy Sustainability.
